Richard Knutson and John Leyvas, Jr., principals of Moison Investment Company - East Bay Group, announce the re-flagging of the company as Premier Apartment Advisors, a boutique real estate brokerage dedicated to multifamily investment transactions. Knutson and Leyvas will continue to serve as Managing Partners of Premier, which includes 8 sales advisors and 7 support staff. The company has also relocated its office from San Leandro to Marina Village on the Alameda waterfront. Leyvas indicates that "by creating a specialized business identity, Premier will further enhance its delivery of unique advisory and brokerage services to the apartment investor community."In the past 3 years, Premier agents have closed sales of over 3400 multifamily units, valued in excess of $600 million. Recent notable transactions include Hacienda Commons, a 212-unit apartment community in Pleasanton, the highly-publicized $88 million sale of The Essex on Lake Merritt, Oakland’s luxury residential tower, the sale of the 425-unit EmeryBay Club & Condominiums in Emeryville, and two other sales over $60 million each in Hayward and Oakland. While Premier and Moison will continue to operate independently, Premier Apartment Advisors will maintain an affiliation with the Los Altos-based Moison Investment Company on selected major transactions. William and Jerry Moison established Moison Investment Company and have operated the business together for 25 years.
